Help deciding which to buy

Looked at some cars today specifically the 2017 Kuga ST line, 2015 audi a3 saloon, 2019 Peugeot 2008, Crossland x and 2017 ateca.

All of these cars have the room we need to fit our car seat in and big enough boot for pram and shopping etc. It's a family car we're after and only doing around 2k miles a year. The audi felt the most premium but I am worried in regards to running and maintenance costs.

I'd go for the Audi as it's a saloon and I don't like crossovers, but you have to make that decision. The Audi shouldn't be too bad to run, you could use an independent specialist instead of a main dealer

I like the Kuga personally although I have no experience of ownership.

Kuga - nothing special but a perfectly good family car and will have reasonable running costs
Audi - might miss some of the more modern tech but you will have the badge and the associated running costs
Ateca - we have a 2018 Tiguan SEL and I hate it. Can’t wait for the 4 year lease to end in December
Crossland x - bland but functional. Ok for a hire car but not convinced I’d like one long term
No experience of the Peugeot but they look smart and it’s the newest

Unless you plan to keep it long term then you need to consider the future value, the Audi will hold its value better than the others.

The Kuga is a decent car, the Peugeot isn't the best but not bad either, the Vauxhall's are very poor and best avoided. The latest Vauxhall's and Peugeot's are the same underneath but think the age you are looking at is just before they merge.

Thanks for the reply, it felt the most luxurious by far but I was told that they were expensive to run but it might be offset by higher fuel efficiency than the Kuga.

I have had no experience regarding audis my only other car has been a fiesta. Is the badge and running costs worth it? How much higher are the badge costs?

We didn't get chance to drive any today as we were on a tight time schedule, once our money comes in we'll test drive them I think.

Ideally I wouldn't be looking at replacing the car we get until it dies, that was the plan with my old one until some w*nker nicked it and wrote it off!

It's a toss up between the Kuga and the A3 I think.

The Kuga is the pick, the Audi will feel the most premium because it is & it original RRP will reflect this, if you want a true premium feel then look at a 5 series/E Class/A6.

In all honesty the Kuga will fulfill your brief see if you can get an ST Line X.

If I was considering an Audi A3, I would also be looking at a Škoda Scala personally (1.5 TSi). Very roomy in the back.

What's wrong with the Tiguan?

I'm looking for a used family car and the Tiguan and Ateca are options I was looking into
