Which petrol cars have the best driver assists?

After roads are getting busier and speed limits are coming down I've now fully subscribed to the life of having a fun weekend/track car and a motorway cruiser.

I quite enjoy having adaptive cruise control and sometimes Lane Keep Assist.

I have an older Lexus and the adaptive cruise control can be a bit unrefined. It can brake a bit too late and also if someone changes lane to overtake in front of me it is slow to react and ends up throwing warnings at me. It is then slow to react when a car finally moves out of my way.

So I was wondering which cars had the best driver assists?

The Subaru Eyesight system is highly regarded.

My VW T Roc seems to work well. ACC is responsive but doesn't over do it. I have turn the lane assist off though

The driver assists on my M4 work really well but as per usual they are an option.

We also have a Lexus (UX) and the active cruise works well but lane guidance not so much and my mum has a Polo GTi and the same is true for that

Volvo Pilot Assist is one of the older systems, but works very well. No high speed panic braking for nothing like some I’ve encountered.

Mercedes Distronic Plus in my 2015 C class is brilliant. Although, you will struggle to find it on used cars, as it's part of an option when brand new called a Driver Assistance Pack for £1,795 - Hardly any C classes were specced with it.

In terms of the latest systems the likes of bmw, Merc, VAG (and maybe Hyundai and Nissan?) also have predictive cruise systems that use gps to adjust the cars speed through bends and slow down it down when approaching junctions and roundabouts.

Another vote for Distronic Plus.

Volvo Pilot assist is excellent and included on some modest specifications. Makes motorway driving extremely comfortable.

Witchcraft is what I'm looking for.

Sounds like either Mercedes or Volvo. I like both for different reasons.

I'm surprised BMW don't have a system that was worth mentioning for anyone as they seem to invest a lot in their tech.

I'm not saying they don't have one, I'm saying no one came here to say it was any good.
