The superb is a great car.
Your mileage might be an issue as it’s quite low but if you are doing a good motorway run now and then you might be ok. As a rule of thumb I’d want a good 30mile motorway run once a week.
If your doing short 10mile each way runs the engine won’t get heated which will cause DPF issues and give poor fuel economy.

I had a dreadful Nissan Kumquat that (unbeknownst to me) had a crack in an intake, which caused it to overfuel and that knacked the DPF, even though I was doing 70 on the M56, the 2nd time was during lockdown, I had a Suzuki S Cross diesel, and that was purely down to lack of use. 8k miles per year isn't that low.
Just take it for a blast on the A55 every week or 2 if you do just shorter journeys and it will be fine.
Agreed, you can even go lower mileage than that. Forget about the ‘if you do lower than X miles, you can’t justify a diesel. If you prefer the diesel power delivery, Any annual mileage is OK - you just need some long runs every so often, and they need not be ‘blasts’ (too many 50 and 40 limits on the A55 for blasts anyway)Just take it for a blast on the A55 every week or 2 if you do just shorter journeys and it will be fine.

Good point about the A55 speed limits 
Last time I drove that road was years ago and it was a race track back then with no cameras.
