Insurance during car overlap
Discussion
Hi all,
So I've just put a deposit down on a car 2 hours away, it's a private sale. I'll need to go collect it in the next few days but what do I do about insurance?
I've got my current main car which I can list for sale but not until I've washed it (or ideally on Friday when it's getting a professional detail). But then I'm not around for a week from the sat night so unless I line up a buyer and sell it pretty quickly I'll need to keep it insured etc.
We are actually right near where the new car is next week so we could take my wives car up there and then collect that one for the week and drive both back, but again would need to cover the insurance aspect for a week. Did one temp cover from google and it was £200 for a week - not sure if that's the going rate. I'd also need cover whilst I sell the old, which I think won't take long as I'll put it at a good price -but its s tricky one to know what to do.
I could get a train up this week, temp cover it and drive it back but then how do I ensure it's covered alongside the other incase someone steals it, it's got a ghost alarm but could be towed or stripped etc.
Bit clueless sorry, rarely change cars!
