Used W205 C63 / C63s buying tips
Discussion
Hi All,
I currently have a 2004 CLK55 convertible but am looking to switch to something a bit more practical in the next 3 to 6 months. I keep coming back to the W205 C63/C63s estate as a good solution to tick all the boxes across performance and practicality.
I have read a few buyers guides and it seems that beyond squeaky dash trims that there is very little that goes wrong with these. I have only seen one example of major engine borkage (35k of warranty work apparently on the engine). So my first question from owners/ex-owners is if this is an accurate picture? I don't mind having to spend to maintain a car or above average consumption/costs of consumables but obviously don't want to be in something that throws up expensive repairs on the regular.
My second question is around tangible difference between C63s and non-s for daily use? From what I can see the main thing I would miss is the sports seats. The power difference is negligible and would be closed with a stage 1 remap. Second hand prices seem to show a bigger gap between s and non-s than when they were new and for the amount I want to spend (30k to 35k) I can get a much lower mileage non-s car.
Appreciate any thoughts.
