2010 Impreza WRX second car & track toy

Good evening and the merriest of Fridays to you all,
I’ve been offered a 2010 GH Impreza WRX from a friend for £4500- a decent bit below market value (no questions over the car, the price is more of a situational necessity rather than a reflection of condition) It ticks all the boxes from, the second car for a family of four practicality standpoint, but does anyone track one regularly? I’d like something that can do some track days etc while still being at least semi-practical day to day.
I’m no stranger to the older imprezas and I know it will need some modifications to hold up/entertain accordingly. I think I would need around £2k on top of the purchase price for it to even be ready for a track day. The question is- is there anything at around the £6500 mark that might be a better choice?
