£10K to spend on a non-daily runner

Hello all,

I am thinking of parting with up to £10K on something 'interesting'. I'm here for ideas.

My stipulations:

1. It shouldn't be total st, so no £9K Aston Martins
2. It should run.
3. It can't be something so rare/uncommon that I can't get it fixed (Maserati vibes).
4. It shouldn't be a diesel.

I used to have a Clio 182 in *that* blue colour, that would be ideal, but it doesn't have to be French nor a hot hatch.

Any ideas are appreciated!

Not really a suggestion but have a look at the hot hatch thread.....plenty on there!
In your situation, I think it either has to be a hot hatch/2 seater/convertible/wafty cruiser.....depends on which of those sound most appealing!

What about something like the 2 seater 350Z Roadster? They are rare, don't cost an arm and a leg to run, plus they make a nice noise too(especially with an upgraded exhaust/intake).

The Z4 3.0 Roadster is another option as well, plus as mentioned there are loads of Hot Hatches to choose from as well.

Have to shop/wait for a good one for the money (mine owes me about £11k after buying at £10k and fixing everything the prev owner neglected)

Wish I'd got one sooner if I'm honest, mines my 'daily' and is great fun with a little practicality to boot but most owners use them as non-daily cars - I'm just not very good at doing sensible daily cars (Mk6 Golf GTI lasted all of a few months)

Can be had for £10k or slightly over and I suspect if you wait until Autumn you'll have more luck.

Insurance is cheap (under £200), tax isn't too bad (£280) and running costs are pretty good unless you buy a rotten one but the applies to any make / model.

Id agree Boxster, look to spend around 7k for a decent one with 3k left over to sort issues such as suspension refresh
