Advice - buying used car

Hi all

Had my eye on a specific BMW at a dealer for a while. It is hugely overpriced. I enquired > 1 month ago on it to see if they would drop price - flat no from the sales assistant due to the 'current situation' - fair enough

Today, it still hasn't sold. They've only dropped it about £300. I wanted around £2500 off
It's been up for sale since 24th March(!)

Just after some advice really. Is it worth going back to them again, and should I contact a different sales rep or even the 'sales manager' or whatever they would call them?
Seems like they have purchased the car at an overinflated price and are struggling to shift, hence the lack of price drops...

In short it has a few key options and is in the colour I want, and cars with all of those options AND colour really don't seem to come up very often...

I did almost manage to get one, until they found the car had been remapped previously and pulled the sale 2 days before they were due to deliver it to me

Sounds like you’re gonna have to pay what they want, because they probably know the same as you do….

Crap colour

£2500 in your pocket for a crap colour or £2500 spent to have the colour and spec you want.

Call them up, say you want to buy it but need the sharpest deal they can possibly do, see what they say, decide if it’s worth it.

Thats how I would do it/like a customer to approach me with it.

Don't ask whether they would sell if for £X. Make an actual offer and be prepared to negotiate. Despite the supposed higher prices and non movement on price I struck a deal on a car just after the bank holiday weekend. It's coming into Quarter and half year end so their may be a deal to be struck.
