Car bought is missing item
Discussion
Hi,
I'm sure this has been asked before so apologies.
I've purchased a used Sportage last week that was advertised as including the Android/Apple integration.
It looks like it doesn't have this now and I'm mightily cheesed off. Dealers....can they honestly get anything right for a customer it really winds me up.
-To get some ammo before contacting the dealer I am trying to find the advertisement thats now disappeared (Emailed AT now to request a copy)
-When asking the dealer he said yes this was all included
What would you do here and has anyone had this situation before?

message them saying the android/apple integration as per the advert doesn't seem to be working. Can they look into this for you.
Simples....
Yes this will be my plan. Simples....
To what end here though?
It is a my2016 model with a 17 plate so maybe the dealer is none the wiser on this like me.

Just call them & then go from there, you could already have an answer by now.
It’s not unreasonable for OP to ask for some info in case others have had similar issues and what they had done *before* they speak to the dealer.Edited by ZX10R NIN on Sunday 12th June 12:47

Ring/email what they say.

God what a nightmare...driving in car today and bang...stone chip and a crack formed.
I think this car is a bad omen.
Annoying. I bought a very tidy old Yaris for my daughter to learn in last year. Feeling quite pleased with myself until.next morning when I found a roofing nail embedded right in the edge of the tread of one tyre. New one required. Only 50 quid but it did leave me feeling... deflated;)I think this car is a bad omen.
Your chip may not be a bad omen though. The Yaris has turned out to be a good un, and daughter passed first time 3 months ago.

I'm waiting for a response from Auto Trader to send me the archived advert.
I think I'll need to wait for the AT response.
Why not just call the dealer tomorrow and say it is either not working or the car doesn't have it. They might surprise you and deal with it in a way that suits you both.I think this car is a bad omen.

At least give them the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise.
It could be a genuine mistake.

Yes I will be, I do think it's a mistake here as I've made but I do think the dealer as they'd do will blag there way out of this.At least give them the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise.

I really do want a car with at least the tech they moved up to in the MY17 model I thought I was buying. It'll decrease selling appeal if I do flog it on again.
The aggro to send it back will be a nightmare and I don't want to but it's going round my head as an option.
Devils advocate:
Did you take a cable along when you viewed/test drove/collected the car to check?
I’ve never understood why anyone to whom such a critical feature is make or break on a car doesn’t do the above.
Either way, if the dealer said ‘yes it has it’ then they have to deal with it. I assume you have it in writing?
