Opinion on my next car purchase
Discussion
I've been pondering what to do next.
I currently have:
1986 Ford Fiesta
2005 Mercedes SLK55
2018 Abarth 595
Being a car nut I've always wanted to have something resembling a supercar. My means won't stretch to what I'd ideally like, some kind of McLaren, but I can manage something like an R8 or AMG GT.
Would you just keep the small fleet above or lose them all and go for a single replacement? Or maybe there's reasonably priced 2 or 3 car garage you'd suggest?
Thanks

I think if you had a supercar that having a little abarth for nipping to the supermarket or other scenarios where you wouldn't want to be using the supercar would be handy.
You would be lacking any sort of load lugging option with that two car garage though, not sure how much of an issue is for you personally. Looking at what you have now it seems that you don't have the option at the moment anyway.

My wife has a Mini Clubman Cooper S so that does the daily jobsYou would be lacking any sort of load lugging option with that two car garage though, not sure how much of an issue is for you personally. Looking at what you have now it seems that you don't have the option at the moment anyway.
Is the purchase of an R8 or AMG GT dependant on selling all the other cars OP?
If it was me I would keep either the Fiesta or Fiat, sell the other two and buy an AMG GT, or the R* depending on preference but I prefer the AMG GT.
I would if possible keep the Fiat for daily use if that fits in the overall budget

It's a good shout and I do like the Abarth I must admit! If it was me I would keep either the Fiesta or Fiat, sell the other two and buy an AMG GT, or the R* depending on preference but I prefer the AMG GT.

sell the merc, keep the abarth as a daily. and im presuming anyone who has a 1986 ford fiesta has it for other reasons than actually really driving it anywhere, so i'd probably keep that too.
not really sure an AMG GT is really different enough to your existing merc to justify changing it - it certainly isnt a supercar, whereas the R8 with a V10 certainly is.

Looking at the prices of old Fords these days, if the OP keeps the Fiesta for another couple of years it could be worth about £200k!!!not really sure an AMG GT is really different enough to your existing merc to justify changing it - it certainly isnt a supercar, whereas the R8 with a V10 certainly is.
If you want to change then I'd say keep the Abarth & then go for something a bit more special than an AMG GT.

If I were in your shoes, I'd keep the Abarth 595 as your daily then get one of these
Ferrari 360 spider - yes, it only has part service history, yes it was originally black and had been wrapped resale red, BUT it's a manual!
https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202107195...
Another manual! Lamborghini Gallardo
https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202205135...
Three manuals in a row! Audi R8 V10
https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202204144...
Or, if you want to experience some serious power - what about this 825 bhp Nissan GT-R?!
