Naturally Aspirated V8 cruiser
Discussion
I currently have a Lexus LS460 and absolutely love it.
Naturally, I'm looking for a successor to this car.
It can be a saloon, estate or coupe.
I'd like it to be newer than 2015.
Budget of £40k
The reason I'd want naturally aspirated is that I love the roar that you get with the V8, I removed the muffler on the Lexus and it has a really great satisfying sound. I feel turbo'ed cars lose that as they have so much torque low down that you don't often get to hear the V8.
I like reliability and knowing that if I so wanted I could put 200,000 miles on it.
I don't want anything above 500bhp and the running costs are wasted money as I don't use this car for anything other than long motorway cruising and the odd London central traffic. So ruling out things like the S63 AMG.
I prioritise comfort, smoothness, a nice interior, quietness and quality of the sound system. I also like radar guided cruise control.
Options could be:
BMW 750i V8
Mercedes S500 V8
Audi S8
Range Rover
Lexus LC500
I would love something smaller than the above but can't seem to find it.
I think the Maserati Quattroporte V GTS would be the best option of all cars available but it's a little old with high servicing costs and the latest car doesn't have a V8, or at least I can't find one on Autotrader with a V8.
The new Lexus LS is a 3.5L hybrid.
Any thoughts about my shortlist and options I haven't considered?

Yeah, absolutely adore the GS-F in terms of being unique and different.
I felt that it may be a bit sporty and M5-like for what I'm looking for?
I'm looking for something a bit more lazy and cruisey, but if people recommend I should drive one I'll wait for one to come up that I like the look of.

From the reviews i remember reading/watching the GSF doesnt try to be a highly strung boosted sports car.
More traditional V8 cruiser, naturally aspirated, youd have to u work it through the rev range to get performance compared to its turbo charged rivals.
Otherwise it behaves a s a cruiser.
Cant remember is the suspension is stiff/compliant or soft

The answer is a Granturismo Sport:

As someone has already said the GS-F is a more modern version of the 4.7 Quattroporte & a car that really gets under tour skin.
The Mercedes S500 Saloon/Coupe won't be N/A they switched to a 4.7TT engine.

Oh damn I didn't know the S500 was turbocharged. Ruling it out then.https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202203093...

I think if I were to go for a Granturismo I'd go for a 4.7L Quattorporte as it's the same car anyway.

Mustang.
I then saw one for myself at a BCA auction that had rust on the front wing.
After googling the forums it turns out they all have that issue and you need to replace the panels due to the oxidisation.

Thanks for all the advice on this thread.
Been doing non-stop research since I posted it. It turns out the LC500 has a few flaws that I hadn't noticed, primarily cargo space and I didn't realise how expensive parts and panels were for it due to it's carbon fibre shell, so insurance can get incredibly high. It's also not very practical long-term.
I have concluded the best car for me is the Lexus GS F, watched so many reviews and it appears to tick every box.
I've decided I want a black one with either black or red interior. Going to be very patient and wait for the right one to come up for sale.

Will be very interested to see how you get on with it once you find one. Could be quite a wait, apparently only 60 on the road just now - although 5 are SORN so some potential.Been doing non-stop research since I posted it.
