What's going on with the mileage on this car for sale?

Checked the MOT history, never seen one with this level of discrepancy before. The dealer has priced it pretty low and mentioned a "discrepancy on previous MOT", but this looks crazy!

The Polo my brother got my nephew for his 17th birthday has a similar (and obvious due to the consistent annual miles the car has done) error on the mileage on one MOT, the service history shows that it was a mistake by the MOT station.

Have you seen pictures of the dash? Initial thoughts are pixel issues on the display or sometimes people stick things on the dash that might of made it harder to read. The first one could be 19k, the ones with 5’s could be 2’s and it would make sense but as mentioned need service records.

Yep, Mitsubishis of this era do suffer from iffy dash displays.

Weird. So many discrepencies! However the initial 90k does seem most unlikely for this type of 'runaround' which at least superficially looks clean and tidy. Odd indeed.

Does the mileage get saved when the car fails an MOT or does it have to be re-entered again when it goes through a re-test? If the latter, then supposed "mileage mistakes" are being precisely duplicated on many occasions after fails.

But that aside, looking at the crazy list of problems in the MOT history, it's either one really bad car for having supposed done less than 6,000 miles per year, or it's being clocked like crazy.
