Looking for an interesting semi reliable car for sub £4.5k

Hello,
I'm currently the owner of a 2014 Move Up!, which is also my first car, it's a great car but it's a bit too german for my taste, too boring and standard to look at, i'm thinking of selling it and buying something else more interesting for under (4.5k). Insurance should still be fairly cheap as i've only been driving for 4 months but owned the car coming up on a year. I was looking at c3 pluriels, because a mate has a c2 and despite that being objectibly crap it's quite loveable in a french sort of way, with it's split folding rear boot, drug induced seat patterns and overall weirdness, and the pluriel just seems to be 2000s citroens weirdness to the max. Any other interesting cars you think of, as the c3 is not the greatest of drives.

Alfa Mito/Giulietta? Found they are both pretty reasonable from an insurance perspective for my 18 year old lad and far more interesting than the usual suspects with a wide range of engine outputs. Reliability seems no better/worse as well.

As above the Alfa Mito is where I'd be looking they come in 95/105/120/140/155/170bhp form so you should be able to find an Insurance friendly one, Veloce spec is the one to go for.

If you like a French Fancy how about a C4 OP? These are full of character and a huge step up from the C3

What about a Volvo C30? Not the most exciting thing but it's got a bit of Swedish style. Or if you want to go French, maybe a Clio GT?

Trying to stick above 2005 and not diesel as I live in Bristol and the CAZ is coming into effect soon, might take a look at a Jimmy Ive always liked them.

Maybe a base spec Dacia Duster? Probably less appealing than a Jimny, but newer and a little safer
