Hi all,
Looking to sort 2nd car. Have xc90 so don’t need nothing big, have 3 kids so the one in a million time I’ll have all 5 of us in the car we need to be able to fit so saloon makes sense.
What is the best value for sporty ish, nice interior and technology.
Was looking at XE, 4 series gc, etc…. Any help much appreciated.

I'm going to go with a few leftfield options first.
Insignia Gransport 260 this is the more sensible option but it's a good steer with a good amount of power & they come in under budget too as well as (I'd be taking one of these over a Skoda Superb) being very spacious.

Or if you want more go & more of a drivers car the VXR Insignia especially in estate form is a great option:

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202201311...
The XE S 340 is another very good option & you'll get a nice one for your budget as well as a special engine:

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202204024...
Or the bigger XF with the same engine but the 380 version:
https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202203284...
The VXR8 is another great option epic drivetrain that's a cracking steer too:

Giulia Veloce 280:

I forgot the Alfa but was worried about it being out of warranty.
Like it a lot, next job is to get the Mrs into one!
Don’t need a powerful engine as I’m more into the tech and luxury, appreciate all input so far!
The Alfa will be no less reliable than any 2.0T German offering.Like it a lot, next job is to get the Mrs into one!

After summer 2018 they came with 5 year warranties. They won't be super spacious in the rear but sounds like that is not a deal breaker.Like it a lot, next job is to get the Mrs into one!

Also as you have the XC90, something like a CLA45 saloon is a nice sporty option

Whilst the car above is okay if you want the spec tech & power then the Veloce is the model to go for:https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202203043...

There are two leftfield options that are worth a look.
Infiniti Q50 35h sensible hybrid with a nice unsensible 3.5 V6 for when you want to have a bit of fun.
https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202110098...
Or the 3.0TT Q50:

If you already have a big car, then you don't even need a saloon, you just need something with 5 seats. This means you can get more fun stuff
Firstly, another vote for a Giulia, though I'd go for one of these sprints over a Veloce, as they are cheaper to tax and insure. You can remap them to over 300 bhp as they have the same engine as the Veloce, just a different map.
https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202204144...
Or, another Alfa - Giulietta 1750 TBi
https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202112010...
This Ford Fiesta ST still has 5 seats, I'm sure you can all squeeze in on one of those rare occasions that you need to, plus it'll be a laugh
https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202203113...
Likewise for this Toyota Yaris GRMN with a 1.8 supercharged motor
https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202203213...
These Peugeot 308 GTi's are fantastic to drive, as well as being slightly larger than the above
https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202202122...
Or if you want something bigger, this 508 GT is a handsome looking thing
https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202203223...
Staying with the Frenchies, you can't get more fun than a Megane RS Cup
https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202204164...
Some VW group stuff now, kicking off with this Audi S1
https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202111239...
VW Golf GTI Performance
https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202204094...
Seat Leon Cupra 300
https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202204124...
Skoda Octavia vRS
https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202204074...
Finally, BMW 440i GranCoupe

How often do Infinitis need to get mentioned on here that they stop being a left-field option? ;-)
they'll always be a leftfield option to the masses but maybe not to a PH Member who regularly looks at the buying guide
A bit over-budget this one but you'd not park next to another in the supermarket.

I really like the idea of this car. I'm looking for a new larger car and was veering towards the guilia Veloce but would love to keep 6 cylinders!
