Been looking for a new daily for some time.

Took a M135i out for a test drive and was blown away by it and since then decided to get serious regarding hunting the right one down.

Decent example with the spec I want are thin on the ground or commanding a higher price, 16/17k

With the budget creeping up (initial budget was circa 15k but aiming to get it closer to 10k)

Got me thinking what else is about, and the A4 avant (3.0 V6) is very much in budget.

Anyone have any experience/offerings on which car they would take over the two……

If you like a bigger car then go for a 335i touring it steers just as well as the M135i but with added space.

That’s a good shout, would have to be a N55 one tho, and they look pretty rare.

Hi OP,

I went through this recently. Couldnt decide between the older V8 S4, the newer V6 S4 and an M135i.

I ended up going for the M135i for the following reasons:

Seem more reliable
Seem more economical
Didn't NEED the estate

So far its been great. It's a manual, very fast and has done a steady 31MPG over my ownership. My old Fiesta ST did 38mpg over a few years, so not much worse.

I love it.

I think I am leaning more towards the M135i over the S4.

As I also feel the M135i has more fun factor with it.

The 335i mentioned above (F31) has put a spanner in the works, as there are pretty rare and a bit more ££ than the M135i but seem to be a great car to suit my needs.

Struggling to find a decent car for the right ££ at the moment, the used car market really has gone bonkers on the value of thing,

Starting to ask if i should just stick with what I've got and maybe wait until it corrects itself, but then again I've heard this is how the car market will be and we have been spoilt by cheap cars in the UK.

If you can increase your budget then go for an M140i - that B58 engine is one of the best engines BMW make.
