Getting an erroneous MOT distance from 2011 changed.
Discussion
Looking at a car where on doing an online vehicle check it comes up with a warning for mileage discrepancy. This according to the dealer happened back in 2012 where it was driven to the continent and had onboard computer changed to km.
On return it apparently did an MOT still in km and that was recorded on the MOT and then subsequent MOT done in miles.
The MOT that was done in Km if converted to miles does correlate to the rest of the MOT mileage checks so seems plausible reason.
The issue is I discussed this with the dealer and he didn’t seem to bothered when I said about sending evidence to DVLA to get it corrected before I bought it. I’ve had this with one of my cars where another 10000miles was accidentally added but I was wondering since in this case it was so long ago would the DVLA change it. Don’t want to buy it then find out the dvla won’t change it.

I don't know what proof you need but...
My TVR mileage was accidentally recorded as 401752 miles in 2014. I was never bothered as it looked so far out of bed.
I sold the car last year, and since then the online records have been amended:
Date tested
17 November 2014
PASS
Mileage
41,752 miles
MOT test number
5970 8122 4325

I had the reverse on my last E Class.
It's first MOT in 2014 had a recorded mileage of 18,083 and in 2015 recorded as 253,960, which was actually the correct mileage.
The 2014 mileage was actually 180,830 but the tester obviously didn't think a 3 year old car would have done that sort of mileage.
I never bothered to get it corrected.

It’s an older Porsche 986 car so very much dependent on condition when/if I see it. There’s others I want to see first. If I get to it and condition is exceptional it might be worth a punt but if it’s like the rest of them that I’ve seen and very average then I’ll probably walk.
The time I got the MOT mileage was greater than 30 days. The day I got home from the MOT check been done I realised the error and immediately got the MOT test mileage changed but they hadn’t updated that change on the DVLA. Had a bit of a shock 8months later when looking to part-ex and a very low price was offered due to mileage discrepancy. Took about 2 weeks but eventually DVLA did change it. Wether they would do it in this situation I’m just not sure.
