Hi guys

I'm in the market for a NA or supercharged manual family car with a decent steer which is 2010+ and is between 10-15k.

I'm drawn to the 3.0T S4/S5s, but how are these to drive ? I am coming from a Cupra 280.

You won’t find many manual S4’s, they were only made for a year or so from memory, then went all DSG due to the manual box being in the high £500 tax band. Pretty sure the S5 was only ever DSG on the 3.0t.

VXR Insignia very good underrated they're actually a better drivers car than an S4/5, they're no less reliable but make sure the Haldex unit has been serviced as per the schedule:

How family orientated does it have to be? Because you can get the spacious Monaro VXR:

The Insignia looks like very good value given the performance on tap, under the radar too in the right colour.

Presume they are quite robust?

It's actually a good looking car as well. The older generation as in the above links more so than the new ones IMO.

It's a pity they didn't carry on with the Omega tradition of being RWD. They would be cracking cars with power to the back wheels IMO.
