Thinking about changing to hybrid as the company I work for has changed to “hybrid” working . So instead of 5x 100 mile round trip per week, I only need to do one per week now, and the trip is half motorway, half 30-40 mph, so not the most economical of driving situation for my diesel anyway.

Just want to see if anyone has driven both of these, and can comment on their driving experiences, NVH, mpg, acceleration etc. Thanks in advance.

The IS300h is the quicker of the two a smidge better on fuel & the one I'd pick out of the two but in reality you can test drive both back to back at that point you'll know which one you're buying.

I am currently hiring an UX250h, and can give you my thoughts on this car:

1-steering feel is Ok for a SUV (better than the dead awful VAG cars). Fairly compliant ride on less than perfect roads, and absorb the speeding humps without any issue.

2- predicted miles show 400+ miles with a full tank which I think is amazing!!! (I am used to around 200-250 miles per tank of SUL smile ).

3-it is a relatively small car. If you or front pax are 6ft, the rear passengers won't be enjoying the trip much, so not ideal for family with teenagers or growing kids.

4 -boots space is much reduced in the Hybrid. Fine if you travel light, but I would struggle to pack our family bits for a foreign holiday or suitcases + backpacks to the airport.

5- the touchpad controlling the car / info system is st (compared to touchscreen).

6- despite never liking SUV, the high seat position mean I can slot into the seats with ease. I have mechanical lower back pain, it's great to be able to get in/out with ease.

Personally I wouldn't buy one mainly due to the size (too small for family of 4), but it's a decent cabin to sit in, and it's adequate as a hire car for the next 2 months.

Thanks for the info, and this reminded me that the IS fuel tank is 50% bigger than the UX’s.
