Up to 3k estate/suv/whatever…

I’ve posted a few similar topics in the last 12 months but things have finally settled and I have a fixed budget and an idea of what sort of car I need!
So I now have a work van and I definitely am not going back into a lease car sooooo I have a budget of 3k and need a vehicle that can carry myself my missus and 2 dogs - will generally be used for short journeys around town and to dog walks but about 5/6 times a year travel to the in-laws which is a 300 mile round trip.
Don’t want anything that will cripple me with running costs but obviously doesn’t have to be a 80mpg slow bus either.
Any suggestions please 🙏🏻
