At the very least, leave a message.
Apart from not being able to answer my phone in work, so that's 10 hours of the day gone, I generally have a simple screening procedure: if they're a real person who would like to speak to me and not a callcentre drone or automated/recorded, then they'll leave a message. Otherwise, unknown numbers mostly get ignored, and that goes double after work.
Or text them... something simple will do so long as it's not "wats ur lowest price m8?"
