Simple really, dont need the Lexus anymore so after a small fun daily for around £5k, im 6ft3 so needs to accomodate me and my border collie when i take him off over the forest. Only a 6 mile drive to work, so petrol...and manual. Dont need POWER as got other cars in the house for that, but also want it to be a bit fun to drive.
Current thinking is fiesta zetec s, either 1.6 or facelift ecoboost. Any other suitable cheap thrills?

Abarth 500? Fun little things. You might be a bit cramped at 6ft 3 though.

One of our friends has a standard 500, I tried it and it is just too small...even the dog refused to try the boot for size!

Having had a few bad issues with Fiat, the Panda is a definite NO...Swift sport is a good shout, but seem overly expensive for what they are and I genuinely don't like the shape, as for renault, well I have never had a french car yet.....

With only having a 6 mile commute something with heated seats and heated windscreen would be good for winter. You can’t really go wrong with a fiesta.

At the minute the DS3 is very good value & you'll get a very nice DSport for your budget:

DSport Plus

Ultra Prestige

Or it's 208 cousin.

Feline

XY

Or if you want something a little bigger then the Astra GTC in SRI spec is a very good pick:

Thanks for all the options, the french are out as that 1.6thp engine is horribly unreliable, had friends buy both the 208 and the Ds3 and had nothing but issues.
The astra i hadnt considered, so i will look into that, i still need to get my dog in the boot so i cant go too small!

Don't spend that much. Any cheap old stter that you don't care about can be great fun no matter what it is.
I bought an old 127hp Forester for that very thing......loved it

I've got an old Mk1 Focus that would suit this brief very well. You can have mine for £5k if you like. rofl
