So am after a 2nd smallish car to just run about it (already have an xc90 for family duties)

Went to see this one last week, but am really in 2 minds about it. Wondered what anyone else's thought's are?

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/114881988927?hash=item1...

Car was stolen, but recovered. Looks like someone has used a screwdriver or the likes to pry the door open - Damage extends to the roof and more so to the top of the door/window frame which has actually bent in. How the window did not shatter I do not know (unless it has been replaced)

I did do a HPI check and it is comes back as clear (would possibly show up on vcheck?) Seller said to me he has had quotes for around £500 to get the damage sorted - I feel like it would be considerably more to do a proper job. (at least 3x to 4x that) Might be cheaper to source a second hand door, but then of course there is the worry that the paint colour doesn't quite match!

Other than the damage to the roof/door and bumper it was in good condition, and seller seemed honest enough. Seems like a good spec car otherwise.......

cheers
Mike

My brother just sold a 100% immaculate one of similar age but higher miles for 12k with even better spec.

It would need to be cheaper than that for me to be interested. It's a terrible advert that gives no useful information, I wouldn't even entertain calling it personally but I am fussy.

the one in the ebay ad is a series 4 car - 2016 they started rolling these out but there is a whole bunch of series 3 cars in the same year - S4 cars command more money for sure. I haven't see any with the performance pack (lsd, carbon seats etc) for anything under 13k and all those have been with higher miles.

Interesting you mention the fiesta ST. I did have a short test drive in one last year and was pretty impressed. Def a good all rounder. I can't give you any good technical reason why (the fiesta is better in pretty much all respects), but I prefer the 595. Sounds amazingly good out the factory and there are far less of them on the roads probably help smile

I've owned a few abarths Inc a 135 and a 165 bhp model
I also test drove the fiesta ST at the time too. The older 4cyl ST I actually preferred but couldn't get a good deal on one, the newer 3cyl wasn't as good... Really odd little engine that

ST (4cyl) defo a better daily, abarth more fun and feels more of an occasion each time to drive it

The other option is the Peugeot Sport 208 GTI they're a cracking steer a smidge behind the Fiesta with a good engine note too:
