Hey all,

I currently own a FN2 Type R (09) that I've had for 2 years now and love however I want to get ahold of something a bit more fun whilst I'm young, I want to be spending (+£2k) around the same as what I'll be selling my current car for (£4500).

The cars that have caught my eye currently are:

Boxter 986 (2.7 or S models)
Nissan 350Z
BMW Z4
Mazda RX-8

Any advise would be greatly appreciated, I'm most intrigued by the Boxter 986 but considering its age range I would need a lot of advise around the risks and prices👍

I don't think any of those will be as fun as the Type R.

350z is heavy, sounds good etc but it's a cruiser
boxster will be a total shed for 5k, while fun it's also a bit meh.
z4 - had one, not that fun, good cruiser, nice engine but manual box is trash.
rx8 - that would be the only one that i'd class as genuinely good fun but expect crap fuel economy and a bit of effort to keep the engine going. Premix, warm up, cool down etc.

I'd get something like a turbo mx5 mk1/2 or an mr2 turbo for fun.

I agree at that price point you're looking at a MR2 for fun, though I would not discount a TT or for style an Alfa Spider?
