Target price for a 2018 Golf GTI?
Discussion
Haven't bought a car for a long time so advice would be appreciated!
Found this at £18,725:
Dealer (VW)
2018 MK7 2.0 TSI GTI 230 PS 5 Door 2018 Manual
44k miles.
1 owner
F/S/H
It's in very good condition - no scratches, dents, etc. Drives fine.
Usual 2 year warranty, breakdown, MOT cover etc.
Any thoughts?
Cheers.

I'd probably go manual, but of course it's personal opinion. I had a DSG GTI a few years ago and always wished I'd gone for the manual box.
I also had the performance pack but I'd say it's not really needed to enjoy a GTI the way it's intended - I presume you're not taking it on a track. I'd try to find one with adaptive dampers instead although they seem a bit like hen's teeth.

We've had a couple of Mk7.5 GTIs
First a 2017 Manual, now a 2019 DSG Performance (and we actually had an overlap for a month or so). I'd say the difference is minimal between performance and standard unless you're really pushing hard or on track. The gearbox really changes the feel/engagement though, for us it's a daily car and we've had more focused cars alongside them, for that the DSG works really well, particularly combined with the standard fit adaptive cruise control and it is still fun enough when I find myself on an interesting road with it.
If it was our only car and I didn't do much heavy traffic driving I'd probably tempted by manual for the control & engagement, it does feel more rewarding (and the golf ball gear knob does look cool!!!).
