I’m looking for a replacement for an S90 T4 I’ve had on lease for 18 months. The Volvo has been fantastic but the gutless, inefficient 2.0 4-pot is not worthy of the car.

I’ve enjoyed pilot assist in the Volvo and would like adaptive cruise in its replacement.

I’d like something 6-cyl 3.0l+ (hate to say premium, but there you go, I said it) to buy because I can’t stomach the dreadful lease deals on offer at the moment.

Shortlist is:
A7 50tdi or 55tfsi
540i
C43
E43

Problem is that Mrs FWIW and Jr FWIW moan that the estate versions of the 5, C and E... “old man” cars. Which is fair enough as I’m 51...

So I seem to have settled on the A7. Love the tech and interior, it isn’t a box, and has a bit of poke.

I’d like it to be less than 3 yrs old and under 30k miles.

Infinity is out of the question, sorry ZX!

Am I missing any options?

You might get lightly used BMW m340i with adaptive cruise within your price range.

Just depends if it's big enough for you.

Probably, but I’d rather the 5 if I can get it past Mrs FWIW.

For something that distinguishes you from the PCPers maybe a QP or Gulia QV?

Blimey, those CLSs look like stonking vfm. And the E53 for that matter. Don’t think they have adaptive cruise?

Panamera is on the radar but too old for something in budget - I’d rather have some manufacturers warranty.

QP/F food for thought but I think I’d rather have 5 doors.

Biased, but Kia Stinger GTS. 365 bhp. Adaptive Cruise and Lane Keep Assist work really well together. Has every other toy too.

I looked closely at C43 and 540i too before choosing. No regrets.

2019-on preferable, but 2021 with new infotainment in budget. 7-year warranty.

That particular E53 doesn't but I've supplied one with it, the CLS's both have it.

You can get a Porsche approved warranty on the Panamera's.
