R55 Clubman - has to go. Need seom cheap fun

Hi all

I have a nice 997 C4S in the garage for sunny days but my daily (I have two small kids) is a lightly modified R55 Clubman Cooper which has been brilliant. Prior to this I had a R53 S which was quicker but less practical.

Im a little underwhelmed with the performance of the R55 and dont want an S version due to the engine issues associated with the N14

Happy to chop in the R55 and spend up to 7K - have been looking at fast hatch options. Needs to be child friendly

Think Ive boiled it down to :

FN2 Type R Civic
Megane Sport 225 R26 Cup
Mk6 Golf GTI

The golf is the most boring in my eyes and the Megane the most exciting

Any experience of these or views?

If you can up your budget you could get a 5 door mini cooper s for about £10k (I know it's quite a big jump...)

Why don't you just buy a N18 Clubman Cooper S
