Currently have a Honda Integra DC5 which I have thoroughly enjoyed for 5 years (maybe putting up for sale soon if can't have 2 cars), but looking to get something else now I have a good bit of money saved...

I will be seeing and test driving numerous cars, but interested to see what people think on here after their experiences.

Few requirements are:

+Up to £25,000
+Petrol
+Seats 4 adults (ok with 2/3/4/5 doors)
+Manual (but open to auto as well)
+Mileage not massively fussed more about the condition (as with my current car)
+By daily I will be going into the office 2/3 days a week and won't be going on track I doubt

Potentials (I know quite varied!):

+Honda Civic Type R FK8
+Ford Focus RS MK3
+BMW M4
+BMW E90 M3
+Megane RS 300 Trophy
+Audi RS3 (2015) - seen a small number just around my budget
+Mercedes A45 AMG (2015/6 facelift supposedly more fun)?

I know the BMW M140 fits the spec but not a massive fan and also like the following but over my budget especially for decent examples...

+BMW M2
+Ford Focus RS MK2

Just on the topic of "over" your budget.

You can get a decent Mk2 FRS for £25k -

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202104141...

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202103160...

Not many and i think much of what is on Ebay is over priced considerably in a lot of cases. But that seems to go for the whole of the market right now.

In terms of the m2 -

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202104201...

You could haggle like hell to get the price down ??

Most of the cars in the list seem rather small to comfortably fit 4 adults?

I'd haggle hard on an F80 M3 personally. Cooler than the M4..

If you can haggle & stretch the budget the the Mustang pretty much ticks all of your boxes:

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202103160...

Now you can go down the warm coupe/saloon route, then take a look at the cars below.

Giulia Veloce 280 nice amount of power good chassis & a good steer.

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202010014...

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202104211...

E400 Coupe

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202011105...

440i M Sport Plus

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202007181...

M Sport

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202007181...

New shape S5

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202103019...

But at this price point I'd go full fat yes they cost a bit more to run but they depreciate much slower & are more desireable.

M3 Saloon

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202012157...

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202012036...

You can get M4's for your budget & that's no bad thing:

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202104201...

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202104302...

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202104020...

TT RS a very special engine but it might be a bit to cramped

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202104010...

RS5 another car with a special engine & is well worth a test drive:

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202104211...

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202104271...

C63 Coupe bombastic engine & a nice steer.

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202104081...

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202104061...

Lexus IS-F a car that get's under your skin, it's a good steer & running costs are on par with a 440i

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/265018525046?hash=item3...

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202104101...

Hot hatch wise the Megane RS300 Trophy would be right up there:

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202009304...

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202101198...

As would the RS3

It would be a Focus RS for me. Although not sure I would fancy daily'ing a MK2. They are on the verge of classic status with prices already rising so to daily one piling the miles on would seem shocking to some!

Love an F80 M3 but very few near my budget at the moment. Maybe if I wait a bit or check the owners groups...

I just don't want a 2 seater as do have people in the back sometimes.

Thanks for your feedback. A lot of those ads are saved on my Autotrader as well.
I have read some good reviews on the Giulia Veloce 280. Maybe it could later be made a but more powerful. Most likely another one to try so thanks for reminding me.

Not a fan of the E400 Coupe and would be ok with the M4 running costs so pick that over a 440i.

Hadn't thought about the RS5 so will look into them more.

I agree with the TT RS being a bit too cramped.

Looked into the Lexus IS-F before and maybe an option but I feel like the E90 M3 is my favourite out of the two.

I'd prefer the newer RS3 so would be looking at higher miles (like one of the ads you posted) but that could be OK depending in how much I like how the car drives.

Certainly on the same page so thanks again.

The RS5 is a bit more special than it's given credit for have a look at this review:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Kf-2D1vge8

M3

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8uZ68XoPqhU

The Giulia is a good car that you can tune them to around 330bhp.

What do you think of the Mustang? Personally I think they're great & they have that ability to feel special at low speeds to which is something not everything listed above can do.

If you're happy with the running costs of the M4 then I'd forget the warm versions.

C63 AMG was second on the list when i got the Mustang and BMW M6 convertible third. The BMW and Mercedes would have been 4 years old for the £42K i paid for the Mustang. Best decision I ever made everybody loves a Mustang not so much the other two.

Thanks I'll check out those videos. I'm on YouTube so much!

Never considered the Mustang so will have a look into those.

Ended up passing an F80 M3, an M2 and M4 on a trip out today and really got a thing for the look of the M cars. Shame the M3 and M2 are a bit too much but something might be possible around my budget.

That's certainly a lot of car for the money, but personally a bit too big for me at almost 5m long.

Take a look at the Mustang as they're good value as well as sensible running costs & sensible depreciation, you can get a good M4 for your budget.

The Giulia isn’t a patch on the German stuff mentioned in this thread. You’ll be massively short-changing yourself if you go down that route IMO (unless you go QV!).

For me it would be the mk3 Focus RS.

I'd also consider an i30N but have had enough of FWD cars now personally.

Yes I agree and it's most likely one taken off my long list at least.
