Hello chaps, I’ve come to the sad realisation after years of wanting one, I’m a bit too big for an mx5. I am still yet to drive one but have been to see a lovely local mk3 with the preferred folding hard top. There was so comfortable way to get in or sit, with minimal adjustments available. I am aware of Jass Performance seat lowing brackets but, this feels like an expensive gamble if I still don’t fit/ like the altered driving position. I currently have a Mk1 TT 225 and love the performance (it’s my second ever car and first drive with a bit of performance! Only bought it as I couldn’t afford a nice mk3 mx5. I’m now ready to make the move, but don’t know what to do. I am quite tempted by the mk2 z4’s but ultimately want go cart handling for around 6k and rwd with a good diff to try and do some skids. What do you experts suggest?

Can you fit in a mk3 mr2 ?

You could get a 2zz engine swapped one at hat money.

From my experience, the Mk3 MR2 is smaller inside by quite some margin.

I squeezed in to mine because I liked it so much, but it wasn’t overly ‘comfortable’ at 6’0”.

Have you considered an RX-8? £6k will buy an R3 version.
