What optional extras would you regard as unreasonable, as in they should be included in the base trim/poverty spec?
I have an S-Line Audi Q3 bought 2020. I didn’t get the comfort and sound package at the time as it took the monthly from £477 to £494 or thereabouts. I didn’t mind at the time, but now I feel quite aggrieved that a £35k vehicle doesn’t come with front parking sensors as standard.
Do you think front parking sensors are quite rightly an expensive optional extra on a premium subcompact SUV, or do you agree with me that it’s daylight robbery not to include them as standard on a car of that price?

The snag with 360 is get a whack on a mirror and it becomes a grand+ to sort it out.
I find it odd that rear camera isn't standard on many SUVs. Driving SUVs in the US they're had them as standard for years.
It's changed now but we nearly slipped up with wife's late mk1 Tiguan as basic cruise wasn't standard - demo had it and salesman told us it was standard.

If front parking sensors were standard equipment the basic price of the car would be higher, so you would still be paying for them. I have an S-Line Audi Q3 bought 2020. Nothing wrong with having the choice. You didn't want to pay for them, which was yours.Cold said:
A friend of mine had a plug in hybrid 5 Series as a company car a couple of years ago. It didn't come with powerfold mirrors - which may have been a source of amusement to me.
With work we went to a hotel where they valet parked the cars in a tight yard. They were getting colleague's 5 Series out and the guy asked him where the switch was for the folding mirrors!Sheepshanks said:

A stupid amount extra, compared to what they cost.It makes production more awkward as well - needs two different bumpers / skirts etc.
When we bought our Yeti in 2012 we ended up buying the Elegance trim which came with all sorts of stuff we didn't need like xenons and leather and auto wipers purely because it was the lowest trim level that had Bluetooth. Which is plainly ridiculous: it's pretty much an essential safety feature.
Can afford £477 but not £20 extra, i suppose £477 for an Audi Q3 on stilts that’s punishment enough.
I was aggrieved at paying £3k or £4K for a panoramic roof.
Heated seats should be standard too.
I signed up for a lease on one of the 8 series GC on the cheap offer last year and it was over £1000 to black all of the chrome out!

Not having dig, honest, but how is Bluetooth an essential safety feature? It’s not like seatbelts or airbags etc?If iI could direct sir to the Porsche website. Ordered a new (base) Boxster for my wife, due to arrive in May. LED headlamps (£1,400), auto dimming mirror and rain sensor (£345), cruise control (£228), rear view camera (£1,086) all came as standard on her current Mini Cooper, which cost considerably less than the £47k the Boxster starts at.
