Fun and capable cheap daily

Hi all, I'm currently looking for a new "daily", and by daily I mean will get used once a week to nip to the shops/b&q with maybe 1 100 mile round trip a month. I had my last car on a PCP and just wasn't doing the mileage to justify the monthly payment so want something I can run about in for a year until things normalise a bit.

My recent car history, being a mapped 330d, a mapped 435d and then an x4 m40i has left me looking at BMW's, perhaps an e46 330ci with a few coming in around 3k.

My requirements are, obviously petrol, reasonably nippy, isofix, not french, coupe/saloon/hatch whatever. Practicality isn't particularly important, I just want something I'll enjoy spending time in. The budget is in no way set in stone, man maths and all that, but ideally, I'd like to see change from 4k.

Other cars I've started shortlisting are Octavia VRS, Mazda 3 MPS, A5 2.0 tfsi... Anything else I've just completely missed ?
