I find that due to my membership of the NFU, I could apparently get up to 22% off the price of a new Jaguar. Last year's model, and I guess there will be limited choice, but even so that seems a lot. How does that compare with what I might be able to get off the same car just by direct negotiation with the dealer ?

That's pretty decent depending on the model you can negotiate very close to that off again dependent on model, look at the price of ex demo/pre registered cars to see if you're getting a good deal.
