Any ideas on something that would fit this car spec:

£40k ish
Size wise not huge but not tiny either
Can occasionally fit kids in the back
Sporty/stylish looks
Ideally high profile tyres to avoid the endless kerbing!
200 ish bhp
Less than 30,000 miles

Any ideas you have would be great many thanks.

Style over substance then! Not a criticism. Well, it is, but my wife would be exactly the same!

I'd say a range rover of some sort? Evoque or velar? Or xc40 hybrid, audi q3,..

Mini Countryman JCW my fiancées dream car. Whenever cars come up it’s always a mini that wins with her and her friends.

Automatic, 300bhp, looks brilliant and has a brilliant spec at that price. Can get them well inside your budget as well.

Save yourself some money and take the S Sport with 190bhp.

Alternatively the SQ2

You know, something uncomplicated and easy to understand. Perhaps a pretty fabric interior to match her dress. Ample boot space for the shopping and a zippy engine as she'll want to get to the shops and back quickly to have dinner on the table for her husband finishing work.

When you say "a woman that can fit kids" do you mean she's on the tubby side of curvy and perhaps not easily able to slip into a Lotus Elise?

I'm going leftfield ish.

With a £40k budget why go for a Q2 or MINI?

Maybe allow some budget for wheel refurb or a set of smaller wheels with high profile tyres.
