Is it possible to buy your lease car at the end of term?
Discussion
What agreement do you have?
PCP - Personal Contract Purchase (buying car with a final payment at the end that should be roughly what the car is estimated to be worth or lower)
PCH - Personal Contract Hire (Renting over an agreed period with an agreed initial payment)
Contract Hire (Same as above but for businesses and usually with vat added)
The leases are the PCH and Contract Hire and usually there is no option to own at the end. Many reasons for this including how they are underwritten, how the discounting and vat is handled etc.
But you can ask the question, you might have a bit of a shock at the price though. Probably less so these days as contract hire prices seem to have risen a fair amount in recent years.
My mate had one of the M135i deals, he was paying £179 a month plus vat, loved the car and asked for a price to buy it. He could buy a new one with some discount for less than his then 26k mile 2 year old car and they would not budge on price.
It ended up as an AUC on BMW's site for considerably less.
So all a bit weird and makes little sense.
