Selling a classic to France

Hi all
Just sold a classic car on eBay
The winning bidder is from France
Having no experience of selling to a foreign country (very little experience of selling at all)
I’m just asking advice here to avoid any possible fraud or scams
Guy has been an eBay member for many years with a v good feedback history
He’s asked for an IBAN , BIC Swift and driver’s license details for money transfer
Seems a little excessive (particularly drivers licence details) thought IBAN would be enough ??
He’s also asked for address phone no and email address so he can arrange shipping
Don’t want to give too many details due to possible ID theft

They'll need your name and address for arranging collection, the banking details are no different to account number and sort code, just the international version to allow transfer. Can't do anything with them

and he'll also want to make sure that he can be really sure that you are the person that has control of the ebay ID, and it's not one that's just been taken over by someone dodgy.

I sold an MGBGT on the 'Bay to France in about 2005, slightly different as the guy wanted to come and collect it in person.

He did, eventually, but I was on tenterhooks for about 3 weeks while he sorted it out. When he arrived he spoke little English but was pleasant enough, and my meagre French just about got us through.

He blotted his copybook, however, when driving back to the ferry because he acquired a parking ticket in the City of Westminster, who of course chased me for the fine. I was able to prove the car had been sold to France though, so got off paying, but my point is make sure you do all the paperwork correctly and keep copies of everything for a year or so afterwards.

Being French he’ll be surprised that you don’t have a RIB for your bank account!,

A RIB has all the detail he’s asking you for, so lacking it he’s just asking you for those details.

You never know what banks want, I need a passport number, phone, name, address, bank name, branch address, Iban and swift to make a foreign payment,
Why I don't know but that's what they want central bank won't process the payment without them.
