Evora S vs R8 vs 996 turbo

The power of suggestions may not make my final call but everyone likes a poll and 'ask the audience' is statistically the best lifeline so..

In order of importance to me, my ownership pleasure comes from:

1. Interior comfort (seats and seating position more than fit and finish)
2. Handling & Feel (steering and brake feel top my list here)
3. Cost of ownership (depreciation, fuel, reliability &consumables)
4. Sound (this forms a core part of the driving experience for me)
5. Acceleration (childish but joyful and critical for overtaking on a b-road without having to hold in 2nd gear at 6,000rpm for minutes at a time - yes I've owned an mx5)
6. Track day usability (I do love a track day but 2-3per year can hardly top the list of purchase priority)

The only one I've owned so far is the 996 turbo, that goes against it in some ways but I also know it covers a lot of the bases very well. Sound being it's biggest failure, comfort, handling and acceleration scoring very highly.

I'd love to spend some time in an Evora, it always gets on my list but somehow I've never got further than sitting in one at the original launch!

Well, turns out you were right. I bought a 996 turbo again.. but ended up selling it for an Evora S
