Alternative to an Evoque?
Discussion
Right having mentioned one of the most hated cars on pistonheads in the title I can probably guess how this thread will go!
I'm looking to replace my current tow car, a Skoda yeti 170 elegance.
Great car does all that I need but it's a diesel and it's not getting used enough so I want to change it for a petrol.
I want something small like the Yeti with a good spec and a bit of power. Needs to be 4x4.
If you want over 200bhp there doesn't seem to be much choice,
Looking to spend around 20k
I've considered
RSQ3 too much power?!
VW Tiguan 2.0. Too boring
VW T Cross 2.0 Too new to get in budget.
Skoda Karoq sportline, same as T Cross.
Then there's the Evogue, very few petrols about and even then I would have to up the budget to get a much older car.
Not really considered BMW X1, X2 don't know why.
Have I missed anything?
And before I get the stock pistonheads answer I don't want an estate

Really looking for AWD I'm not a fan of FWD on fairly powerful cars.

Are hybrids suitable for towing the same weight with the regenerating systems? <snip lots of examples of AWD hybrids>
A colleague has been warned off them due to lower towing limits and when he questioned it they said it was due to the energy recovery systems.
No idea if he was being spoofed because his local dealer didn't have any of what he wanted.

Thanks for the suggestions.
I had already considered the Ateca, it's only a Karoq with a different badge and there seem to be more of the Seat's about.
I would like to stay with VAG group as I have VCDS which makes working on them easy.
I want the AWD for the caravan on grass sites and also as I said I don't want to struggling for traction with FWD.
I had also looked at the MINIs but I don't think I could live with the looks/interior, far too Fisher Price! And the image is on a par with the Evogue.
I'll have to look at the Rav's and maybe the X1, X2.
