Hi all,

I have started the process of looking for a car. 1st I was looking for a Tesla model 3 and now an Y but too expensive. I will try to get one in like 3 4 years.
Then realised that ICE cars have this kind of autonomy level too. I know the differences between levels of autonomy and I am aiming for level 2 which should be lane assist and adaptive cruise.
The first system of lane assist was invented in 1992 on a Mitubishi Debonair according to google. So I am guessing I dont have to buy a 2016 car to have these.
Now I need guidance on what car should I look for because so many choices out there and I dont know what to choose. Also what year these car companies start to sell them cheap, the reason is I dont want to spend a fortune to have them. Thanks in advance. Amd sorry for any mistake, I am at work and my break is almost finished.

H ave a look at the Kia range for ACC and lane centring. I believe the Niro and Soul had these fitted as standard, but only on very recent vehicles (one to two years)

Do you really need a diesel? Also, not being a Euro 6 might pose an issue when it comes to ULEZ etc if that matters to you

Yes i will do motorway miles most of the time. Dont really spend time in town with the car. As for ulez i live in an area where there is no ulez yet.
But thanks for bringing to my attention.

Watch out for different types of ACC. Some will work right to a stop and start going by themselves, some will turn off at low speeds, some wil stop and you have to start and reengage when traffic starts moving again.

I believe a mk10 civic has these features and if you have an auto it will do the brake to standstill and pull away again too
