Im asking for your help so I can know what to expect and what more experienced car buyers would expect/push for from a dealer. So we bought a Qashqai 2014 1.5 diesel Acenta Premium and collected from national dealer last night. When we test drove at weekend it had low tyre pressure on a brand new tyre. Was assured by dealer it would be looked at and sorted. In first 24 hrs equalling 2x12 mile journeys the pressure went from 38psi to 16psi. So obviously an issue. Not sure what.

Another lovely surprise this morning was the windscreen was full of condensation on the inside, rear window and drivers window the same. It's got the glass roof and that seemed ok. Parked in multi storey all day and still water beads top middle and sides of windscreen. So likely a broken seal somewhere...though dealer has tried to say it might be off wet vac (I cant feel any dampness on seats).

Taking it in for them to look at in the morning.i dont want to be fobbed off. I know everyone should be treat equally but I am a woman and will have my young toddler with me and dont know much about cars so probs an easy target. What kind of repairs do I expect/demand? I.e. do they owe me a new wheel if tyre issue is due to a wheel problem. The car was £8k+ and I expect fundamentals like not having water in the car and tyres I can trust ! If anyone's got any experience or knowledge on the likely issues too pls share. My dad always said never buy new but right now it's an attractive alternative!

You're dad's not wrong, don't worry unduly just yet.

Interior damp could just be from sitting around, or could be more serious. Feel around the carpets for damp patches, under mats etc. If you don't feel anything soggy, a pair of tights full of clean cat litter should remove residual dampness. It won't be resolved tomorrow.

Wheel could be tyre, or a porous alloy. Tell them to figure it out smile

Unlikely a porous alloy on a 5yo car ,I have alloys decades old off an Alfa without issues.

Just ask them to fix the slow puncture .

not sure where your damp is coming from.

Tyre could be a knackered or poorly seated valve core rather than an actual puncture they can leak from the tyre bead but it should be easy/straightforward for Nissan to sort out.

I should raise the condensation issue with them if it keeps happening, although my wife's Qashqai also has the big roof and no condensation so the wet vac thing could be reasonable.

Greenhous Nissan were exemplary with my wife's Qashqai, they sorted out a minor issue (squeaky steering) without any prevarication and seemed very modern in their manner, so they didn't automatically try to sell the car to me when we went to look at it.

Just be friendly and tell them of your issues. Most people will just want to sort it out for you.

Its that time of year when cars start to condensate and steam up, try and take the moisture out of the car by using the AC, although this does sometimes have the side effect of making them fog up. The tyre ... just get it resealed or its possibly got a puncture. I certainly wouldn't worry about the car yet.

Running the air con on every journey should remove residual dampness from wet vac or damp carpets from wet shoes.

As mentioned above, run the A/C on for a bit, as it have been sitting a while/have residual damp in the foam from wet-vaccing the car. With it on the misting should go pretty quickly.
The flat tyre could be a damaged valve, faulty core etc.I would either take it back to Nissan, or get a tyreshop to take a look and see what you're looking at. A damaged core, or puncture won't cost much, but they'll be able to tell you if you have a damaged wheel. That'll give you ammunition to go back to the dealer with.

If there’s a pool of water anywhere it’s probably in the boot so have a look under the boot floor. If there is water, could be door/light seals. Another possibility is blocked drains under the wipers. Difficult to look for without taking things apart but shine a torch through any vents etc by the windscreen wipers and see what you see.

The tyre will be fixable, it’s just a question of working out what the problem is. If they give you a new tyre, make sure the other front tyre is comparable - preferably matching.

Bit late to the party on this one, but would like to mention a couple of things.

Firstly, I agree with the earlier posters, the condensation issue could simply be due to the car sitting for a while - I started up my Yaris for the first time in a couple of weeks and the screen was very wet inside - a quick wipe and running with the aircon on has sorted it - will see what it's like on the way home!

Second point is whether your QQ has roof bars as well as the glass roof? Mrs FTR and I are on our third (oops - PCP) QQ having bought the first one - a petrol Acenta Premium - in 2014. That one had the glass roof without roof bars and when we bought the second one, I noticed the glass roof was no longer available without roof bars. During our ownership of the first one, I did notice that the glass panels would move quite a bit when closing the doors, so worst case for your car might be a leaky seal on the roof.

I might be being a bit paranoid, but the roof bar assembly does seem to stop the glass roof moving and I wonder if leaking roofs is the reason they stopped offering that particular combination.

Thanks everyone (well most! someone needs to abide by 'if you can't say anything nice just don't bother!') for the replies. So tyre was losing pressure due to a faulty valve and dealer sorted it no problem.

They checked for broken seals and said there are none and likely is wet vac. The car absolutely stinks of damp now, they must have soaked it when they vacced. I've bought cat litter to put in a pair of tights to try get moisture out of the air. Air freshener is doing nothing to mask it it's so strong. 🤢
