I'm interested in looking for an old car, I'm currently looking at 225 Leon's and figured why not do what I did with my ST170 and look for our old one. It was just by chance that I found my car, I've done some digging on the Leon and know that it was sold in October by JCT600 VW Bradford, when we sold it, it was sold to a guy in Southampton. Any advice on how to go about finding an old car? The reg is KY05 TUW in case anyone on here owns it. That's it in 2008, not sure if it would still look standard or not.

Mot and road tax check might be a good start.

To prove it still exists but that is all - no way of getting address

v888/1 from the DVLA should give you a starting point - https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/v888-re...

Does that give address of new owner?

Bloody dangerous if so as a previous owner could have kept one of the keys then take it. It’s privacy laws being broken.

Yes it does, but as long as the request meets "reasonable cause".

There's no way they'll give you the current keepers details just because it's your old car. You would need a compelling case to be given any information.

Same here, looking for my Dad's old Impreza Turbo, reg S88 WRX. Not scrapped, but not taxed or insured? I was told it was probably sold at an auction somewhere.

Last keeper change was in 2009, and last MOT'd March 2010, but it was stolen recovered in December 2003, with a full insurance payout. Not sure how these dates tie up with your Dads ownership.

NKD88M 1973 orange bug
Hi
I'm wanting to track down our family beetle. We are from the wigan area. We sadly had to let sell her in about 1999. I remember the two lads who bought her said were from the Manchester area. Dvla shows it isn't taxed and doesn't have a mot so sadly thinking it is no longer around or is in a barn. Any help or information would be much appreciated.
Cheers

Depends on the condition, if it was in good nick when you sold it, I'd imagine it'd be in a garage now, if it was a little tatty then most likely it's gone. Hopefully you find some good news, found out X351AJA is scrapped, found the pictures of it in a breakers yard in Leicester from December.

Hey guys, pretty late to the party on this thread but I'm looking for my Dad's 1992 Rover Mini Mayfair, K741 TOD.

MOT ran out in 2014, I think we got rid of it around 2006/07 and I'm pretty sure it wasn't SORN for all that time between.

My Dad talked about getting it back (I think he knew the current owner but I can't be sure whose hands it's in now) and restoring it, but he passed away in Feb '17 and since then I wanted to see if I could buy it back.

Hi all.

Im wanting to track down my old girlfriend.

I didnt want her at the at time so let her go, but for some stupid reason I think I can turn back the clock and get her back as the one I upgraded to is clearly not a patch on the old one.

Rather than just get any new girlfriend thats similar to the old one I instead want that specific old girlfriend back who probably already has a happy life somewhere else.

What sort of condition was it in last time you saw it? You think the new owner is maybe doing a restoration, sorting out that rusty hole you always wish you'd filled in?

The fact its on a SORN now suggests it's still around, Mini Owners Club UK, Facebook and watching selling sites is your best hope. I came across the Leon on Facebook marketplace, owner agreed to hold it for me until I sold my Subarus. Good luck with it

It was in very good condition. All work done. I'll keep looking. As you say it may be in a garage. Thanks for reply.
