Interested to get a view on this.

Tig R Line DSG, 190 option which is specced up and with extras is coming out with far more toys (active info display, added some minor extras) than an A4 S Line and list price about similar pricing.

C Class Merc i'm looking at but concerned it will drop like a lead balloon when the facelift comes out next year.

Anyone looked at going Tig? I used to have a Q5 and loved the driving experience and ease of being able to get clubs/dogs/fishing rods etc in the boot etc

Have you seen the size of the boot on a Tig? It's next to useless.

No, but looking at it the Q5 had similar differences to an Estate.

Thanks for pointing that out.

We went from a C Class Estate to a BMW 1 Series now to a VW Tiguan. The Merc boot was way bigger than the Tiguan but I still think the Tiguan boot is decent, can fit the twins 2 bikes in the back. Much perfect the higher driving style of the Tiguan (as does the wife and kids). Love all the toys that come as standard with the Tiguan. The 4motion is a nice extra and I found the cornering and ride very good and comfortable on Uk's 3rd world roads. However the DSG is still tuned for best MPG so jumps up the gears as soon as possible even in Sport mode which is so annoying. The Merc had a much better torque converter auto which always seemed to be on the power curve and plenty in reserve although I did have the decent engine with 300bhp v6 petrol.

We didn't even test drive the Tiguan, just liked the looks of it and wanted more room + a min-suv style vehicle so got a decent lease and so far really happy with it.
