Looking for a cheap lease deal - £120 p/m ish
Discussion
Evening all,
I am looking for a lease / pch deal for the fiancé, ideally spending around £120 per month. Mileage of 8k pa would be fine as it's only for ferrying the baby around the local area, but car will need to be manual, have 5 doors and a boot big enough for a pram. I have found a couple of good deals within budget on a Nissan Juke ( I know!) which the better half seems happy with. Anything else I should consider / look at for this budget? It's our first lease if this makes any difference.
Thanks

Unless a miracle happens and a mistake like the Passat Alltrack leases from a couple of years ago happens again, you're looking at the Juke, a 108 and whatever the other manufacturer versions are, perhaps a Smart ForTwo.

Thanks for your response. I have contacted a few companies and it looks like the choice is either a Fiesta sized car or a Juke; both of which would suit our needs as a second car.
I was offered a Micra for £99 p/m which is appealing. We are going to have a look in a few dealers this weekend.

The micra could never be called a 'PH-approved' car but they are well-built, reliable, comfortable enough and a decent enough size inside, all of which are ideal attributes for a family runaround.
Go for a test drive if you can - my understanding is the Fiestas are a better drive than the Micras, but budget may well be the deciding factor.

Quick update, we went to the local Nissan dealership earlier and had a good nose around the Juke and the new Micra. As stated by someone above the boot is awkward in the Juke; bigger in volume than the Micra but due to the odd shape of the boot our pram couldn't lay flat which was not the case in the Micra. The headroom and legroom in the back of the Juke is also appalling given its external dimensions, it's baffling how a rather large looking car (relitively speaking) can be so small inside.
Onto the new Micra, it's a huge improvement over the old one. The boot space is generous and somehow there is more rear headroom than the Juke?! The Mrs tried both and preferred the Micra in almost every way; only the the fact that it was 'higher from the road' went in its favour ( I couldn't perceive much of an improvement in forwards visibility to be honest).
We decided that the Micra was the best fit for our needs and the fact that the cheaper monthlies allowed for a higher spec was a nice sweetener. We have applied for a deal of £120 p/m with 8k mileage on a two year deal, a bargain in my eyes!

What was the down payment on this please?
It was circa £1080 but I suspect this deal may be on the outgoing model as opposed to the new one, which if so will mean I we will not go for the deal and look at something else. The picture on the lease site showed the new model but having reviewed the engine and spec i think it's the older car. The search continues...

BTW isn't this new Micra a rebadged Clio?
You are correct, I wasn't aware of that so had a google;
"Underpinning the fifth-gen Micra is the Renault-Nissan Alliance’s CMF-B platform, shared with the Renault Clio. It’s even built in the same factory as its supermini rival, in Elins, France."
That explains a lot, it really is a great little car, a huge step up from the outgoing model.

Just thought I would update this thread as we finally have a car ordered. We went to the local Citroen dealer to look at a c3 based on think someone posted above. We had a good play round and managed to get the pram in fine, both of us test drove the car and were really impressed. We upped our budget to £150 p/m to include servicing and the mid range car so that we could have aircon, 16" alloys and the 7" screen with apple play. We've gone for the copper orange coloured one.
As it's our first lease we kept to 2 years and will see how we get on but I'm glad to have found something suitable and small enough for city driving and better still something that the better half is looking forward to using. I have to say the service we had from Citroen Swansea has been brilliant, leagues ahead of that (not) offered by the local Nissan dealer.
