I have a Volvo V70, but my 3 kids keep growing, so I need a new car, and I don't really want an MPV.

Is there an estate car that doesn't have a central tunnel?

My wishlist is: estate, no central tunnel, petrol, automatic, used (pay around £12 - £15K)

I've scoured the internet, but not fond anything - perhaps it doesn't exist...

All advice greatly appreciated (by my kids and the dog)

Cheers.

I do have one suggestion, but it's a 4x4, rather than a traditional estate.

Later versions of the L322 Range Rover can be had for £12-15k, have petrol engines, automatic gearboxes, no transmission tunnel protruding into the rear passenger compartment, and a boot as big (if not bigger) than your V70's.

Fuel consumption's going to be a bit on the scary side, but if you don't do all that many miles, it shouldn't be a problem.

Peugeot 508 estate has a flat rear floor. Looks quite nice too.

Lol. My Dad had a Wartburg estate when I was a kid which also had no tunnel, but somehow, I don't think that's what the OP is looking for!
