£5000-£10000 V8 Barge, BMW 550 760 Jag XF Phaeton or similar

I'm struggling a bit nothing is really grabbing my attention, usually i'm 100% sure of what I want next.

I'm after a big luxurious saloon / estate. Must be petrol, must be big engined, so i'm currently looking at BMW 745 / 750 / 760 i love the ridiculousness of a 760 for my needs which is daily driver (currently in a E36 328 snotter!)

The problem with the 7 series is they only have auto boxes

So i've looked at 540 / 545 / 550 all estates E61 because if you hold out you can find a manual, and a V8 manual touring just agrees with me!

Nothing in the audi & Merc range does it for me, the VW phaeton is somewhat interesting but they all seem to be diesel.

The Jag XF do a 4.2 supercharged V8 might be a bit old man for me though, as i'm under 30 (just!)

So what am i missing, anything other to look at, or any intresting / fun / fast cars that i should look into for a daily

To give you some idea of my likes my car history reads:

Learner car, then E36 318 man, E39 540 auto, A4 2.0d avant auto (hated it), Z4 3.0 man, crappy rover 200, E61 520d Man, MR2 MK3, E39 535 man, E36 328 man.

If you're after a V8 barge, why on earth do you want to change gear yourself?

In a two-seat sports car with a buzzy twin cam 4-pot, sure, manual all the way.

But in a wafty V8 luxo-barge, changing gear is for poor people and the unclean.

Have to agree if you're going for a big engine why go for a manual most barges will be auto, if you like the Phaeton I can't see why you wouldn't consider the S8?
