What Car? - 4 doors, 40 MPG, 8K?

Hi All,

Long time viewer of the forums but decided I needed to join up and get some advice on my next purchase.

I currently have a 10 year old 320D which has done 200k, it's been mainly reliable apart from the usual turbo/dmf replacement around 110k.
Looking forward I am thinking about replacing it but I'm not sure what direction to head in.

My daily commute is 45 miles, mainly motorway, I do love my MPG I get from the 320d and its still fun on a B road.
I have been toying with the idea of getting a 330D e90 but my budget is only around 8K.

I have been thinking about being sensible and simply getting an Insignia but I'd love something with a bit more style..

Ideally I need something with

• Decent reliability
• 40 MPG motorway
• 4 doors
• Some fun on a B road

Does anyone have any ideas? anything non beamer? anything petrol ?

Any suggestions welcomed

If B Road fun is a priority the you can spend half your budget then get yourself one of these:
