Buying a classic that is a Cat D
Discussion
If you are planning on keeping a Classic for some years, is there an issue buying a Cat D car? Its been through restoration since its insurance loss and I am actually thinking how much does it really matter? I suspect a majority of classic cars out there have had a bit of history anyway and never got registered.

Wouldn't make the slightest difference to me.What sort of age and value?
It's entirely likely that a non-specialist insurer took one look, said "Oh, we can't get the parts, so we'll write it off and pay out to close the claim" over something very minor.
this is the thing. Its a 1980s M3 and the price change is quite a bit. I tend to agree with you.
