Which performance car for 50k?
Discussion
Probably been 'done to death' but what would you buy with a 50K budget.
Requirements as follows:
As the title says - must be a performance car
Prefer two seater
Must have luggage capacity enough for two people - annual road trip to somewhere in Europe.
Ideally 'drop-top' but not a show stopper if it isn't
Must have air con
Not a Hot hatch of any description (already have one)
What would you go for?
GG-33
PS meant to add - Hopefully something that isnt going to depreciate massively
(liking the Viper suggestion)

will cost 50000 in petrol to get there and back Standard answers are either a 911 (997.2 Cabrio) or an Aston Martin V8 Vantage roadster. Both lovely and both will do Europe easily and with added style.
Jag F Type is a good shout, or if you want to demolish Europe and don't mind ditching the drop-top requirement, take a look at the Bentley Continental GT.
If none of the above excite, don't be afraid of the TVR Tuscan, in full convertible guise they are a fantastically practical fast sports car and good ones are much more reliable than their reputation suggests. I still miss mine.....

Agreed, or borrow a bit more money and get an Evora 400.The simple answer is the one you like the best, I can recommend a Granturismo (I prefer the look of it ti the convertible) it's a very good car.

Get out!
Buying a BMW at that price point when you could have a had a Porsche/Aston/Maserati is like buying a VW Phaeton when you could have had a Bentley.
What a daft thing to say. What if you don't want a Porsche/Aston/Maserati/Bentley?
