My wifes polo recently got hit while parked and was written off... had some relativity small scratches and a few small dents but across every panel on one side....
The insurance has written car off and we have just bought back for write off value as nothing wrong mechanically...
My questions are: we want to trade in for a Astra or Leon...
- Can we ask insurance company to remove "cat C" classification now we are buying it back?
- If not do we need to let dealer know its a CAT C when trading in?... obviously will say it is if they ask...

You cannot remove the Cat C marker. As the insurers have paid out they will mark it on the HPI.
You do not need to mention it by law, except if asked. I would expect the dealer to do a HPI check and find out anyway.
Then they are likely to kick you in the b
ks with the price offered. What kind of Polo is it anyway? Im looking for a first car for my sister so it could fit the bill.
