New car help, to Saab or not to Saab?

Good afternoon all.

The time has come to look for a new motor, must be brisk enough, around 40 to the gallon and around £5500 top budget.

I do around 15k a year and I'm not too fussed which colour pump I need to use on the forecourt.

The search threw up a few options, one been an Astra as below:

Then I stumbled across the below Saab 9-3, a car/brand I hadn't considered, are there any major issues with owning a Saab knowing there's no dealer network?

Does anyone have any other suggestions to similar cars?

As much as I like Saabs I think with £5500 I would play safe, if it was a second car I would say go for it but as your main mode of transport I would be inclined to look at a Ford/Vauxhall of some sort.
