How easy is it to sell a high performance car?
Discussion
Hey guys!
Looking for some friendly advice.
I'm about to purchase my first high performance car - a Jag F-Type to be exact.
I'm buying one for around £40k in cash. I'll probably keep it for a year and a half and then sell on.
I'd expect the price to be around £30k when selling so I'm just wondering how easy would it be to sell when the time comes?
How have others sold cars worth more than £20k?
Thanks

I owned a F-TYPE R for 12 months, and a V8 S for 3 months
Sold both privately, £56k and £49k respectively
no issue
my advice to you is to buy a V8 S for £45k, will be MUCH easier to sell in 18 months time as will be so much rarer than the V6 and will depreciate a hell of a lot less
find the extra £5k, it will look after you

What are the differences between the V6 and the V6 S exactly, apart from the power?Sold both privately, £56k and £49k respectively

real answer I guess is "it depends" if you crash it, blow up the engine, screw the gearbox, scratch it, wash it with a sponge, burn the seats with a fag end, carry murdered prostitutes in the boot etc, etc, all these can impact on price and how quickly it might sell in a few monthsLooking for some friendly advice.
