Car for an elderly colleague?
Discussion
Can't believe that I'm asking this on here but here goes.
My Accountant / Financial Advisor is now in his late seventies and his daughter (a Chartered Accountant) runs the practice.
He is a very dear friend and colleague and has helped me through some very difficult times in the past.
Having helped me over the last 35 years, he has asked me to help him find a replacement car early in the new year.
He has an E class Merc currently, probably with a value of about £15k to which he would add a further £15k to find a new car - but with the same levels of comfort and gadgets - leather, automatic, nav and bluetooth etc.
Now I don't want to let him down nor give him bad advice and I'm really not sure what to advise, as I don't do 'sensible' normally.
So if this guy was your Dad or even Grandad, what car would you suggest and why?
He tends to keep his cars for a while and I'd hate to suggest the wrong car to him.

I'd be looking at a soft-roader for more comfort getting in/out, maybe a Volvo XC60? Cars for nice people.
If he can afford to fuel it the T6 is within budget with top spec.
